So, Bannon & Zevran….

So what if I were to say… I won’t be continuing the Bannon & Zevran saga here, but only on fanfiction.net?

Just because… I’m lazy, and it’s a real drag posting B&Z in 3 different places. I get the most feedback from ffnet, so…. Seriously, who would just die if the new B&Z chapters weren’t posted here? Hands?

I suppose I need to leave the rest of the blog here, for the videos, and the tutorials and all. So this blog won’t go away. I just won’t have to update it. :X

Pokage Report 1

So ShebasDawn is now my personal trainer and Poker-of-Authors in an effort to get my Brain off its butt and working on the B&Z storyline, where it has slumped into slumpiness. Dawn thinks I will have a chapter out by March 3. :X

Meanwhile, I have to fill out weekly progress reports. So… Pokage Progress Report Number One.

I played the fool Soldier’s Peak quest! FINALLY. It didn’t help.

First off, I see I should have had Bannon play Sophia and Avernus off each other, to try to up their bids. As it stands, it seems the Wardens ticked off Sophia, who sent the undead Warden minions after them. Oops.

Secondly, I had it in my head that Avernus was trying to cure the Taint. EatenByDragons, however, informed me that he’s actually trying to improve the Taint, to get more powers out of it and less dying. Well. The “less dying” part works for my elves.

So I talk to Avernus. He mentions his deal about refining the Taint to give the Warden more powers. I ask him what they are. He says, poke around and read my notes; it’s all there.

I poke around and read the notes; it ain’t there.

Fortunately, it’s all on the Wiki. Dawn prodded me to ask the Cheeky Monkeys of Dragon Age, which I did, and Corker helpfully provided me with some links.

Then I had to deal with this theme of Avernus doing evil experiments, which my companions clearly find distasteful. (Which comes across as kinda non sequiteur if you manage to not find the evil experiment journal before you go talk to Avernus… :X ) How to express this in a written story, without cutscenes or dry evil mage journal reading?

And just where IS Avernus getting his food and supplies from? And HOW? I know he is, cuz there’s a midden heap. :X That, plus I need him to have some fresh bodies to experiment on. I’m thinking he snatches treasure hunters and other explorers who’ve tried to reclaim the fort.

So then I said… what if Avernus stuffs and mounts his experimental results? Yeah… now I have some good ideas for the crew to do before they meet Avernus, so they have an idea of what’s going on. I know they don’t have time to sit down for tea and crumpets and backstory.

But darn it, Wynne keeps piping up. I had planned to leave her out of Avernus’ Tower. Nevertheless, I need a strong moral outrage against helping Avernus. Though I expect Leliana can carry that…. We will see.

So… I have a sketchy outline of how they get into the Tower (which I had before), and an idea for a scene when they get there. That’s further than I’d gotten before!

In Other News:

I’m supposed to be finishing up Dragon Age: Torchwood Episode 1 this month. And working on my Arrow fic “Shattered Stones.” I finished Green & Black Season 1 last week, so I’m happy about that. Although this morning, my Brain started plotting the start of the next G&B story, which it is NOT supposed to be doing…!

I’ve set aside weekends to work on a book that I am writing. No details have been released yet, about that project.

In the art arena… ugh. Don’t ask. And I had to re-do some work on a lily model. I HATE redundancy!

I did throw together a Torchwood music video last weekend, just a quick one for fun and relaxation. I don’t have a link handy. :X I’m sure there’s a link to my YouTube page on the front page around here somewhere. Look in the “13T Music Videos” list. It’s there with my first Arrow video.

Work This Week

Dragon Age: Torchwood isn’t going to make this Thursday. I went to Cardiff on Google Maps, and the Millennium Centre is facing the wrong way. :X

Bannon & Zevran are still on a little vacation. I was almost tempted to play Dragon Age the other night… have to get to that.

Work For Now

Okay, troops; I’ve hit a bad patch in the road for Bannon & Zevran. Do not start to panic, just yet. I’m going to put the story on hold for a bit. I hate to say “on hiatus,” because my favorite TV show went “on hiatus” and never, EVER came back! So no hiatusing for me!

If I don’t get back on track by the end of February, I may have to do something drastic. Like maybe skip part of the saga and continue on with what I do have. Because there IS more! Oh, there is a TONNE more. It’s just I don’t have anything for Soldier’s Peak and then the Dalish Quest. Well… I have a few bits and pieces for the Dalish Quest. But not a lot. :/

Meanwhile, Dragon Age: Torchwood will continue apace. That, I know where it is going. The first episode should be wrapping up. The second episode has a lot of scenes (though I’m not sure it has a cohesive whole yet). And there’s plenty of clips I can maybe release after the first episode is done.

Also, Green & Black, season one is wrapping up. Once that is put to bed, I… yeah, I have a couple of Arrow-based things I want to do in the break between seasons, so I should be able to finally get those done. Well, one thing. And no, it’s not “Broken Arrow”! :X

So. On break. Will be back. End of February, or sooner.

Work This Year, Maybe?

Right, so um… The three stories I was simultaneously working on all ended up coming due at the same time. Annnnnnd, I sorta had nothing written for ANY of them. So. Brain solved this little conundrum by going on a holiday!

Bannon & Zevran… actually has a half-chapter written. I need to play the game to figure out what they’re doing at Soldier’s Peak with Avernus. I need flipping Avernus for later books in the series, so I can’t just skip him. Bah.

Dragon Age Torchwood… I have stuff for the end of the next chapter, and I know the good stuff that happens in the middle of the chapter… I just don’t have a start for that chapter. :X

Green & Black… Uh… I’m kinda stuck on the plot, and I left Oliver hanging on a cliff. Yes, literally. :X

It’s still the Holidays! Yes it is! It still feels that way, anyhow. So… well… Deal. So sorry :X

BAD BRAIN!!!

Work This Week

What’s going on!?  All right, someone talked me into getting a LiveJournal thing.  Is it a blog?  Whatever.  I’m putting my Arrow-centric stuff over there.

B&Z got a 1/3 chapter the last Friday they were due.  It was either that, or nothing.  :X  This Friday should be another 1/3 of the chapter.  The last third is partly written?

DA:TW is having the brakes put on.  I think I won’t put out another chapter tomorrow, but will work on the B&Z (it isn’t typed in yet).  I expected to have chapter 5 typed in and done by now, but it’s due next week, and I’m still working on it.  Man, time goes fast.

So this is what will happen…  a week of B&Z on Friday, then a week of DA:TW on Thursday and G&B on Saturday.   Lord help me keep up with this schedule.

Work This Week T-1

All right! I was a bit worried, but this week’s promised B&Z is written, typed, proofread, spell-checked, AND ready to be formatted and published! Whew!

This week’s promised G&B is… still a mess. But I have two (and a half) days to get it done!

Next week’s debut of Dragon Age: Torchwood is on schedule! My continuity checkers are making me nervous… ::cough:: but, things are set to go!

Except… ::sigh:: I don’t have a movie poster/book cover.

In… semi good news, I used 3D Coat to sculpt a Jack Harkness head that I was happy with. And I was even able to nominally get the Michael3 head to glom onto it. Uh… but I wasn’t able to get that to turn into a workable morph.

However! 3D Coat 4.0.0.7 (or something with a 7 in it) has a new Tweak Room! And what is that? It’s this thing where you bring in your OBJ, make a morph right on the OBJ mesh, and export it exactly perfectly right! Yes, I may now die of happiness!

Now, you can’t use the Voxel sculpting tools on it. Or the Live Clay/Surface tools. This room has it’s own little toolset, which is not as robust, but is very good. Well, it is a heck of a lot better than the Transform/Move/Pose set of tools that are the only ones that will autoupdate your retopology mesh when you try to morph it.

The semi bad news is… I’ll have to start sculpting Jack’s head all over again! ARGH! There’s no way I can merge between the voxel work I’ve done, the retopological glomming-on I’ve done with the mesh, and the Tweak stuff.

Oh well, third time’s the charm, right? I can hope… Plus… I *could* start with the M3 morphs I already have….! Maybe this weekend, something amazing will happen!!! (Or… you know, I can be stuck trying to write G&B all weekend :X )
